WIN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR WRITING!

The Essay Contest is sponsored by Optimist International to give young people the opportunity to write about their own opinions regarding the world in which they live. The approach can encompass a young person’s personal experience, the experience of their country or a more historical perspective. In additional to developing skills for written expression, participants also have the opportunity to win a college scholarship!

Club winners advance to the District contest to compete for a BB$5,000 college scholarship. The District-level scholarships are funded by the Optimist International Foundations.

WIN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SPEAKING!

Since its start in 1928, the Optimist Oratorical Contest has become the longest-running program sponsored by Optimist International. The contest is designed for youth to gain experience in public speaking and provide them with the opportunity to compete for a college scholarship.

Win BB$45,000 or more in scholarships!

National Contest Winners will compete at the Optimist District Contest for a
chance to win up to BB$5,000. District winners advance to Regional contest to compete for an additional BB$10,000 award money. The Regional winners advance to the World competition where they compete for an additional BB$30,000 in scholarship funding.
